Last year Women United along with their community partnerships was able to help over 100 kids in the Lawrenceville, Ga and York, Pa areas. This was no small feat due to the conditions in the community concerning Covid-19. Around that time, many families experienced a sudden loss of income, the threat of homelessness and it was really hard to provide for basic needs let alone Holiday Gifts for their children.
With the little resources Women United had at the time, we were still able to deliver Hope for many families that otherwise would have gone without. This year, we decided to make a goal to triple our numbers to serve those in need. Women United's goal is to serve 200 families in the Metro Atlanta Area and 200 families in the York County, Pa area.
Since publishing our Holiday program, the response has been overwhelming and our registration lists are at capacity with no slow down in sight.
Because of the huge need in both of these communities, we are seeking and depending on community partnerships. As a way to get involved to help those in need, Women United is seeking partnerships with individuals and businesses that can help support our mission!
The Angel Tree Holiday program allows our partners to aid our cause without so much demand, time, or stress on themselves or their business. Women United will simply put an Angel Tree in your facility. The business's staff customers or clients can pick an Angel off of the Tree (which confidentially represents one of the kids who was registered in the program), purchase the items on the Angel Tag, and return those items to the business with the tag attached and Women United will do the rest!
We will take on the work of wrapping (if not already wrapped), packaging, and organizing the gifts, planning, and hosting an extravaganza for the community and participants to come and receive their gifts! As a Thank You to the Community Partnerships, we will shout out the businesses or individuals on our website and social media, and your business will receive a Gift of Appreciation and a letter giving you more information about who you've helped to serve!
If the Angel Tree is not an appropriate way to partner with us, there are other ways to get involved and we can speak directly about those!
