Over 400 Meals Donated to Local People in Need!

Updated: Jun 21, 2021

Women United helps to feed the local community in Gwinnett County, Georgia and York County, Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving.

A part of Women United's mission is to help solve community based struggles. One struggle that many people in the community is hunger. So for the Thanksgiving Holiday, Women United conducted their Annual Thanksgiving food drive to help bridge that gap.

It's important that we not only create a way for locals to come get some good food but we also aim to create a better sense of community fellowship.

The food drives were conducted in Gwinnett County, GA and York County, PA as these areas are the two main locations where Women United is currently established. It's important for us to be able to reach a large number of people in the community. We know there is a need and it truly makes our heart smile when we can give back to our communities.

Makin' it Happen, Covid-Style!

As the number of cases continued to rise, Pennsylvania covid-policies were strict which limited Women United on how they could conduct the event. It was a struggle, however our Pennsylvania team still pulled through, covid-style! The food giveaway was walk-up (take-away) and drive-thru only. Women United partnered with Small Memorial AME Zion Church located at 401 S Queen St.. Together, they was able to give away 175 meals in the York Community.

Food, Games, Music & a Furniture Giveaway!?

The event's in GA went out with a Bang! While the weather is much warmer in GA around this time of year, Women United was able to host a fun-filled event! We partnered with Kream Kutz (@KreamKutzllc) located at 1575 Lawrenceville Hwy to host the location of the event. We also partnered with Loud and Focused Dj & Photography Services (@young_king_finesse) to provide the music at the event. There was a furniture give-away to anyone in need sponsored by Full Circle Furniture Liquidators ( @fullcircle_mgmts) with all types of items for FREE!!

For the children, there was games, relay races and prizes given away to the winners. The kids who came to the event truly enjoyed themselves. They loved the food and some even got seconds, which was totally welcome! Overall, Women United in GA was able to over 225 with meals, furniture, clothing items, and fun at their Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive!
