Women United recently partnered with Bell Shelter to bring a STEAM series to the children living at the shelter, led by our York, PA Director, Laquetta Coates, with the joyful assistance of our graduating Infinite Youth girls.
This partnership is a full-circle moment for us: the Infinite Youth graduates, once participants in our programs themselves, are now stepping up to give back to their community, showing younger children that their dreams, curiosity, and creativity truly matter.
But what is STEAM? STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, and it gives children the chance to:
🔬 Explore science through fun experiments💡 Build confidence in problem-solving and teamwork🎨 Express creativity through art-infused projects🔧 Learn how things work through hands-on engineering challenges📈 Strengthen math skills in an engaging, interactive way
These activities help children develop critical thinking, spark imagination, and build the confidence they need to dream bigger for their futures—even in the midst of tough circumstances.
We believe every child deserves a chance to learn, explore, and thrive, and through programs like this, we are planting seeds of hope that will grow for generations.
Thank you to Bell Shelter, our Infinite Youth graduates, and all who continue to help us bridge the gap between fortune and misfortune.
✨ Stay tuned for more impact stories from Women United, where service, community, and hope come full circle. ✨
