Kings & Queen's Haven!
According to NCSL "Each year, an estimated 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness, of which 700,000 are unaccompanied minors, meaning they are not part of a family or accompanied by a parent or guardian. On any given night, approximately 41,000 unaccompanied youth ages 13-25 experience homelessness."
Many times after falling through the cracks of a broken system, or becoming a run-away, these youth go through the process of becoming emancipated. Once they become emancipated, they often experience life's hardships such as homelessness, mental health issues, substance abuse, incarceration, and many other issues. Women United's goal is to help this emancipated youth transition into adulthood.
Kings and Queen's Haven is a separated residential facility for emancipated teens ages 14-19. Fully staffed with accessible transportation. We provide link to resources for required and continued education, jobs, health facilities, and a required integrated curriculum that teaches them values, coping skills, goal setting, financial literacy, and much more, all while providing a safe haven for them to excel.
